WE LIKE GOOD, UPLIFTING STORIES The editor of a successful local newspaper once told us, "It's the bad news that people want us to report." And so that is what we get. But are they right? Newspapers like uncommon events. Uplifting, good news stories may be too commonplace to be of interest. Perhaps. Your happy, uplifting or amusing stories can make us smile and feel good and so we want to publish as many as we can! It's good for us, it's memorable for our visitors and it's great business for our city.
- Share your inspiring, amusing or happy stories. old or new, long or short.
- Say why your home town is such a great place.
- Or just write a line or two on what YOU care about the most.
It might be about your family, your football team, your pet, or it could be the river, the new arena, shopping in Liverpool 1 - or something else!
Just send an email, or leave a phone message on 0844 357 8097.(Please include your email, first name and your home district)

Today *I was shopping in Sainsburys in Woolton. I checked out and walked away. A lady came dashing after me. She had left her shopping at the checkout! She held out a £20 note and said, "I saw you drop this." I was too stunned to say much other than a choked 'thankyou'. Yet another great example of the basic honesty of the people here on Merseyside. (I was so pleased that I went to the car and took a pair of Twiggy & Beaky soft toys to present to her as a ;thank you; gesture as she left the shop. I am sure that they will go to a good home. |

I was lucky enough to attend the ‘Local Heroes’ award ceremony at the Royal Court Theatre on 2nd December.
The evening was organised to celebrate the many selfless and courageous people from within Merseyside. The evening was full of inspiration stories, the awards varied immensely and are too numerous to mention individually however one thing that they did have in common was that they were all local people who have all made a difference.
It made me feel VERY proud to be from our great city and proved yet again that we are the ‘capital of caring’
